How can I become a volunteer?
Hawkwatchers are always looking for help at watch sites! Whether sites are all volunteer or professionally staffed, there are lots of ways you can help out. If you are an experienced hawkwatcher, you may be able to assist as a counter or observer. Additional pairs of eyes on the sky are always welcome! Other tasks could be on-site education or data entry. Some sites offer internships or provide training.
The best way to gain experience at counting is to spend time at the site with hawkwatchers willing to show you the ropes. If you’re interested in volunteering, visit the site profile pages associated with each hawkwatch on www.Hawkcount.org. Site coordinator contact info is listed there.
